GamesMaster
This issue of GamesMaster was recieved by subscribers on Saturday 26th August. It featured no new screenshots or major details. However, GamesMaster confirmed that the Leaf Links Golf Course is in Vice City Stories, despite recent speculation that it's not. They also revealed that a lot of returning characters will appear, though most of the faces will be new to the series.

PSM
There were no new screenshots in this issue, but it did contain two or three never-before-seen artworks of Lance/Victor and co. In this feature PSM claim that GTA: Vice City Stories will NOT be ported to PS2 unlike it's pre-decessor GTA: Liberty City Stories. PSM also confirmed that GTA:VCS will feature a custom tracks mode and the controls will be roughly the same as in LCS.

ScreenFun
Details of this issue emerged online on Monday 21st August. ScreenFun revealed that Vic recieves text messages on a pager similar to Grand Theft Auto III. They also confirmed that the controls will be similar to GTA: Liberty City Stories, and that helicopters will play a big part in the game. Three exclusive screenshots were included in this preview.

GamesTM
GamesTM featured a five-page preview which included eleven screenshots in total, many of which had never been seen before. Most of the information in this article was already known, but GamesTM were able to reveal that Phil Cassidy appeared on one of the load-screens, suggesting that he would play a part in the storyline. They also revealed that a new rocket launcher is available, binoculars can be used in the game at any time, and that there are a far greater selection of boats to choose from.

PlayStation2 Official Magazine
Playstation2 Official Magazine (UK) was the second publication to feature information on Vice City Stories, less than a week after Australian GamePRO got the first hands-on look at the new Grand Theft Auto title. Most of the content was familiar ground, and echoed the details given by GamePRO - however, there were a handful of specifics that we found out about for the very first time. OPS2 confirmed the return of "Big Mitch Baker", the badass biker in GTA: Vice City.

GamePro
GamePro (AU) were the first magazine to get their hands on GTA: Vice City Stories. They revealed the name of the main character (Victor Vance) and also the year in which the game is set (1984). Also confirmed was the ability to swim and use jet-skis. Along with the preview were sixteen never-before-seen screenshots, and detailed descriptions of three of the game's missions - "Say Cheese", "Jump Ship", and "Taking the Fall".
