Extra Work

Throughout Vice City you'll come across a variety of opportunities to steer away from the road of Taking Over™, and branch out into other, perhaps more tasteful ventures. And doing a bit of extra work is a great way to earn some money in a hurry.

The following opportunities for extra work are commenced by entering the necessary vehicle(s). Pizza Boy will initiate instantly if the Faggio is parked in its usual position at the drive through window of a Well Stacked Pizza. Vigilante, Paramedic, Fire Fighter and Taxi Driver are initiated by hitting the submission key once at the wheel of the vehicle.

Vigilante

When a life of crime is wearing thin, nab a nearby law-enforcement vehicle and jab that submission button to engage in a bit of role reversal. Early on in the piece you'll find regular cop cars your best bet for tackling the crims, but once you've begun to make a bit of a name for yourself in Vice, a number of superior crime fighting machines will begin to make themselves available. For instance, if you can manage to rack up all 100 hidden packages or complete the final story-line mission Keep Your Friends Close..., a Hunter will spawn at Fort Baxter Army Base. Completing both of these tasks will ensure one is always available at the Ocean Beach helipad.

Vigilante is deemed "complete" upon passing level 12. At this stage you will receive an additional 50 armour points and statistical recognition for your efforts, but continued crime fighting will earn more and more attractive cash bonuses.

Paramedic

IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE IMAGE

Often considered the most difficult mission in every GTA game, the gamer vying for 100% completion statistics will need to learn how to take this one all the way to level 12. No easy task. However, with a little careful planning, and respect paid to the age old adage "practice makes perfect", you'll become a real life saver in no time - although it is doubtful that you'll ever be an efficient enough paramedic to maintain the lives taken to lives saved balance...

To begin, you'll need an Ambulance, available at most hospitals around the city. If you're not the kind of ex-con who enjoys going out of his way to get what he needs, note that one will also arrive within minutes at the scene of any mass slaughter... Free delivery, if you will. If you're serious about passing Paramedic, you'll need to map out the best possible route for each level, as the Ambulance can hold a maximum of three patients and in the later levels you'll be required to save many more than this quota. Take the time to learn the city and its many shortcuts, and burn these into your memory.

Paramedic is deemed "complete" upon passing level 12. At this stage you will receive infinite sprint and statistical recognition for your efforts, but continued voluntary health care will earn more and more attractive cash bonuses.

Firefighter

Like Paramedic, this mission can only be commenced within the one vehicle, the Fire Engine. These are rather hard to come by - the only permanent spawn point is at the west mainland's fire station in Downtown. However, again just like Paramedic, you can get a come-to-you service by lobbing around a few molotovs or wreaking a bit of havoc with the flamethrower.

Firefighter is deemed "complete" upon passing level 12. From here on you will be fireproof and will receive statistical recognition for your efforts, but continued fire fighting will earn more and more attractive cash bonuses.

Taxi Driver

Taxi Driver can be undertaken in either a Cabbie, a Taxi or a Zerbra Cab, and, for the Vice City newcomer, is a great method to learn the ins and outs of the city roads while also earning some cash.

Taxi Driver is deemed "complete" upon dropping off a cumulative total of 100 fares. You aren't required to pull off all 100 consecutively, although doing so will largely increase your cash reward as you receive additional bonuses for each lot of five consecutive fares completed. Upon completing your 100th fare you will not only receive statistical recognition for your efforts, but also a "taxi boost" function available via the horn button in any of the three cabs. This allows you to jump insane heights at the press of a button.

Pizza Boy

Pizza Boy is slightly different to the above four submissions, in that you cannot activate it at will via the submission key. Rather, Pizza Boy will commence as soon as your bum hits the uncomfortable seat on the Faggio stationary beside the drive through window at any Well Stacked Pizza. This mission involves delivering pizzas to many customers around the city. Delivery is accomplished just as a drive-by shooting is - hold the look left/right key (depending on the orientation of the customer with respect to you) and hit fire. It is recommended to commence Pizza Boy from the Downtown Well Stacked Pizza, although the Vice Point franchise is also a nice choice.

Pizza Boy is deemed "complete" upon passing level 10. From here on you will receive an additional 50 health points and statistical recognition for your efforts, but continued pizza delivery will earn more and more attractive cash bonuses.
